Top 4 Beach Road Trips in The US You Need To Take This Summer

Road trips have been one of the coolest pastimes in the United States. There is no better way to make memories and go on an adventure than hitting the road in your wheels with your friends, family or by lonesome. Beach road trips offer stunning coastal views, rugged cliffs, breathtaking valleys, lush forestry, and limitless terrains.

But, in a country as big as the US, it can be difficult to find the best routes you want to take. These are four hand-picked routes for you to take on your next beach road trip this summer.

1. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Myrtle Beach is the perfect destination for friends and family. This fun beach town has one of the longest views of the beautiful Atlantic when on Ocean Boulevard. With so many people making this destination their permanent spot or a second home, it’s no wonder there are so many Myrtle Beach condos for sale.

You are sure to come across a few quirky and charming things when you take a walk around Broadway or a simple cruise down the boulevard. This is where cherished memories are made. Don’t forget to have a look at the cheap Myrtle Beach condos for sale if you think this 60 mile of beautiful coastline is something you could call home during summers too.

2. Florida’s Overseas Highway

This is not your traditional beach route, because you are literally driving on top of the ocean. But, if this doesn’t make it to your top beach road trips, then what does. Motorists can travel from the tip of mainland Florida to the United States’ southernmost point – the tiny island of Key West. There are 42 bridges making this a reality.

This stretch of roadway is only about 100 miles long and can be traversed in just about three hours. But, the amazing scenic views on the route will make you stop more often than you care for. There are also several shops and restaurant stops along the way.

3. Gulf Shores, Alabama to Panama City Beach, Florida

If you have a penchant for the powdery beaches of the Gulf Coast, you cannot miss the beautiful and breathtaking drive from Gulf Shores, Alabama to Panama City Beach, Florida. The route will take you through several popular beach destinations, including Pensacola, Santa Rosa Island, Orange Beach, Fort Walton, and Destin.

The beaches are nothing compared to Myrtle Beach, where you cannot stop yourself from purchasing Myrtle Beach condos for sale, but the route is pretty amazing. Don’t forget to make a pit stop at the famous Florabama – which is known for having survived some of the most devastating hurricanes.

4. Beaches of Los Angeles

The beaches of Los Angeles are perfect for idle cruising. This short stretch of seaside roadway is great for novice drivers who think the entire Pacific Coast Highway may be a bit too much. Drive along the coast of California and sample some of the most famous beaches in the country, including Point Mugu State Park, Malibu, Santa Monica, Marina Del Rey, Leo Carrillo State Beach, Manhattan Beach, Venice Beach, Long Beach, and Laguna Beach. If you did want to stop in one of these places for the day, there are plenty of activities for you to choose from. If you are in Marina Del Rey, you could charter a yacht for the day from somewhere like OnBoat and explore the ocean in some serious style!
