Bristol’s The Down’s Festival 2018 Promises to Be the Best Yet

Bristol plays host to many great festivals and events throughout the year, and one of the top choices for music lovers is The Down’s Festival. Last year’s headliners included Elbow and Roni Size, but this year we’ve really seen organisers push the boat out to arrange the festival’s biggest line-up to date.

The Down’s Festival 2018 presents a killer line-up which features these headliners:

  • Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds
  • Paul Weller
  • Orbital
  • Goldie & The Ensemble

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and Paul Weller will be on the main Downs stage, whose line-up also features The Heavy, Houston trio Khruangbin, Nadine Shah, and Dream Wife. If you’re more in the mood for live sets from electronic legends, Orbital will headline the Avon stage, which is also set to feature performances from producer/DJ Goldie and the Heritage Ensemble, Basement Jaxx, Channel One reggae soundsystem, and Laid Blak.

In the words of Paul Weller: ““It’s gonna be great to play on The Downs, we always have a great crowd in Bristol, see you there!”

Of course, there’s more than just music. Discussion and debate has always been a major part of The Down’s, and 2018 should be no different. We can expect the return of The Information Stage – head there to listen to key note speakers address issues affecting UK society. Last year’s key note was film director Ken Loach.

As ever, the event will take place at Bristol’s Clifton Downs, and this year’s will be coming on Saturday 1st September.

Organisers seem just as pumped as we are: “2017 was a great year for the festival and our 2018 line-up features some of the best live acts around. We know there’ll be a huge amount of interest in seeing Noel Gallagher and Paul Weller live in Bristol. Noel has never headlined a show in Bristol so we are really excited to bring him and his band to the city, and I think we’ve got the best line up we’ve had so far at The Downs.”

There are many accommodation options available to festival goers this year, from swish hotels to self-catered apartments.
